Sirio Ultra Black is specially designed for covers, inserts, tags and prestigious packaging applications.

The innovative composition of the pulp, coloured without carbon black dyes, prevents speckled printing or oxidisation when hot foil processes are used. Retains its deep dark colour even when laser cut. Sirio Ultra Black also works well with embossing and de-bossing, and is suitable for a range of different printing mediums, including offset printing, letterpress printing and screen printing. The paper also holds a strong resistance to light and scuffs.

Varnishing and plastic laminating must be assessed in advance. The varnish, coated with an offset machine, is almost fully absorbed and therefore it does not improve gloss or protection. Screen-printing varnishing achieves better results, although it is often necessary to perform two shots to achieve a distinctly
evident result. The surface roughness, typical of uncoated papers, may give rise to micro defects with plastic laminating caused by incomplete adhesion of the film to the substrate. Good results are achieved with the key processing operations such as cutting, die-cutting, scoring, folding and gluing.

We remind that although the black surface of Sirio Ultra-Black remains normal, when it’s rubbed against another white surface, black particles might be rubbed
off.
