Extra white ultra-fine papers and boards with a very smooth and velvety surface.
Splendorgel: as versatile as a bicycle, as smooth as a racing rink, technological yet natural and environment-friendly. Splendorgel helps achieve exciting goals reliably and quickly in all areas: offset, digital toner based and HP Indigo.
Thanks to its extremely pleasant handle, Splendorgel E.W. is excellent for packaging, coordinated graphic materials, labels, covers, inserts and deluxe brochures. In versions 85-100 gsm, it is particularly suitable for letterheads and writing papers.
Splendorgel’s characteristics ensure excellent results with the main printing processes: letterpress, offset, blind embossing, hot foil stamping, thermography and screen printing. Ideal for use with oxidative drying inks due to the macro-porous surface of the paper. Good chromatic and tone performance; ink load, dot gain and printing contrast are at the highest levels obtainable from uncoated papers.
Varnishing and plastic laminating must be assessed in advance. The varnishing, coated with an offset machine, is almost fully absorbed and therefore does not improve gloss or protection. Screen-printing varnishing achieves better results, although it is often necessary to perform two shots to achieve a distinctly evident result.
The surface roughness, typical of uncoated papers, may give rise to micro defects with plastic laminating caused by incomplete adhesion of the film to the substrate. Good results are achieved with the key processing operations such as cutting, die-cutting, scoring, folding and gluing.
